HOUSTON, Texas (February 3, 2025) – AIS, a professional services and technology firm specializing in quality back-office talent and automation, is excited to introduce Steve Kennedy as its new Managing Director of Commercial Banking.

In his role at AIS, Kennedy will lead the Commercial Banking business line, focusing on leveraging automation and outsourcing to reduce operating costs for financial institutions. His leadership will foster innovation in banking services, ensuring AIS clients achieve greater efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence.
Kennedy brings over 36 years of banking experience, having founded Amegy Bank’s energy group in 1997 and serving as EVP & Head of Energy Banking until 2022. Under his leadership, the group grew to $6 billion in loan commitments. Prior to Amegy, he held key roles at MBank and Wells Fargo. In 2023, he also served as a Director at Via Renewables (NASDAQ: VIA) and joined Opportune LLP (energy consulting and investment banking) where he is currently a Senior Advisor. Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Baylor University.
